On October 11, 2008 Team 359 took part in a service project where we helped clean Weed Circle; which is an often overgrown roundabout in Haleiwa. While helping our community we were also assisting Castle and Cooke, who is one of our largest contributing sponsors. Castle and Cooke, a financial donor since 2003, graciously donated $5,000 to our program this year to help alleviate costs for competition and travel. This was Team 359’s fourth year taking part in this service project, which we believe is important in maintaining and strengthening our partnerships. We did everything we could to help the aina (land), mainly by pulling weeds and picking up any trash in sight.  Through this, we were able to protect native wild-life and beautify our historical community.
