VRC WEST OAHU #1
NOVEMBER 2025
Our teams competed on November 1st, 2025 at West Oahu #1 Tournament!
INTENSE MATCHES
Twenty-one teams across the state all came together at Nanakuli High and Intermediate to embark on their journey to becoming West Oahu #1 tournament Champions! With parents in the crowd, the energy was anticipatory. Alliances were on the field, ready to go, discussing their strategies and game plans. Robots displayed their skills from driving to programming, and drivers made split-second decisions. This competition showed true teamwork and communication, leaving never-ending memories and impressions with these VRC students. Qualification Matches drew to a close; our teams finished ranked 6th with a Win-loss-tie record of 5-3-1. 359B placed 9th with a record of 5-4-0. 3590A was 13th, with a record of 4-5-0. 359C was right behind in 14th place, with a record of 4-5-0. 359D followed in 15th place, also with a record of 4-5-0. 3590B was ranked 21st, with a record of 1-8-0. Our teams had so much fun and enjoyed meeting with everyone!
ALLIANCE SELECTION
A moment that stood out to us is when 359B lent 80825C their spare Omni wheel. Although it may seem like a small gesture, it had a huge impact on team 80825C's performance, allowing them to compete despite a missing part. We are proud of our team for their collaboration and good sportsmanship, always helping a team in need!
ARRIVAL AND PREPARATION
Teams 359B, 359C, 359D, 3590A, 3590B, and 3590C arrived at the second competition of the season, West Oahu #1! Immediately, the teams set up and prepared their robots for inspection. After successfully passing, they moved straight to the practice fields. Their goal was to confirm that their robots and programs were in peak condition and ready for the upcoming Qualification Matches. After their first competition last week, the teams had made revisions to their robots. This makes them ready to take the field and show their new improvements.
TEAM COLLABORATIONS
As qualification matches came to an end, Alliance Selection came about. Teams were ecstatic; they couldn't wait to see who would become their partners in the upcoming elimination matches. 359B joined with team 3685D, Dreadnauts. 359C paired up with team 3685A, Robobots. Two of our teams, 3590B and 3590C, united and allied. Unfortunately, teams 359D and 3590A did not advance to the playoffs. But they supported their sister teams from the sidelines. After the quarterfinals, team 359B unfortunately dropped out with a score of 89-20. However, teams 3590C, 3590B, and 359C all made it through to the semi-finals. Sadly, after the semifinals, teams 3590C and 3590B had been eliminated with a score of 94-17. And Team 359C had been eliminated, 70-25. Even though they had lost, they all persevered and showed much effort and teamwork. They will implement new ideas within autos and build and use them for the next competition.
