Week Six

Aloha! Welcome to the Sixth week of the 2026 REBUILT Build Season!

Day 37

Day 37 has started, and that means the last week of build season is here! Construction created more components for the robot, using multiple pieces of equipment and powder-coating parts for the competition robot. They wanted to ensure there were enough backup parts available during the competition season. Control systems tested, refining systems to ensure they worked perfectly. They ran and tested the new shooter, fixing it and debugging it. They continued to work on the climber, trying multiple ideas and testing them out to pick the best one. Business, Media, and Documentation edited two videos today: the FIRST Impact Award video and the Week 5 recap video. They filmed interviews and clips for the weekly recap, which will be uploaded tomorrow at 9 AM HST! In addition, they practiced their FIRST Impact Award presentation, memorizing the script and doing rapid Q&A questions to prepare for the Canadian Pacific Regional. A day of progress has come to a close, and we will continue to make more tomorrow!

Day 38

It is day thirty-eight of build season, and our subteams were hard at work! The Control Systems subteam began the day by continuing to test the subsystems on the practice robot, then transported it to our practice field to test the new shooter's capabilities and address any errors. The Construction subteam continued creating the robot parts for the competition robot, laser cutting, lathing, CNCing, and water jetting, ensuring we have enough backup parts on hand. They even wired and reinstalled the climber on the competition robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam documented our team's progress today. Additionally, they filmed and edited the First Impact Award video to make it perfect for future viewers. Our team has been hard at work, and we are nearing the end of build season!

Day 39

Day 39 had begun, and each subsystem got busy as the end of build season approached. The Construction subteam made parts for the final robot and powder-coated them black. Additionally, they built the base for the bumper, and it's now ready to be wrapped in blue and red fabric. The Control Systems subteam had worked on additional programming. They continued testing the practice robot, making sure it could shoot from every angle and at every distance into the hub. Some students in control systems also finished wiring the competition robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam took videos of the process of Control Systems programming the practice robot. They also continued to refine their presentation, preparing to compete in the Week One competition in Canada. We can feel the end of the build season coming around the corner, and we will continue to put our best foot forward till the end!

Day 40

It’s day forty of build season, and our subsystems busied themselves as it neared the end of the build season. The Control Systems subteam started their day by finishing up the wiring on the competition robot and ID-ing the motors within. Then, continued testing on the practice robot’s shooter capabilities to ensure they are up to standard. The Construction subteam resumed production of parts for the competition robot, including water jetting, lathing, cutting, and milling them. Additionally, they continued working on making the robot bumpers that will eventually be used. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam took more photos and videos of the control system testing and the production of the robot parts. Then, they proceeded to work and refine their First Impact Award presentation. As the day comes to an end, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for us!

Day 41

On day forty-one of build season, the Control Systems subteam started the day by demonstrating the practice robot during the 7th-grade introduction presentation, showcasing the shooter capabilities. The Construction subteam continued to produce extra parts for the competition robot, making minor CAD adjustments, lathing, measuring, milling, laser cutting, and powder coating. They then finished making the bumpers for the competition robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam continued taking more photos of today’s progress and recording clips for the week 6 recap video. Additionally practicing their First Impact Award presentation. Today was full of hard work, and we are getting closer to the end of build season!

Day 42

It’s day forty-two, and our subteams were hard at work today. The Control Systems subteam practiced with the practice robot while testing the other capabilities of its systems. The Construction subteam collaborated with the Control Systems subteam, making on-the-fly adjustments to the robot, while also lathing and CADing additional adjusted parts for the competition robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam recorded video clips of today’s hard work for the week 6 recap video and took photos to be used for the website. As the day drew to a close, we continued to work hard for the end of build season!

Day 43

On day forty-three, the Control Systems subteam began doing autos on the practice robot, while also working on the intake modifications with the help of the Construction subteam, while they continued producing extra robot parts, lathing, sanding, polishing, water jetting, and CADing them. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam took more photos this week, recorded more video clips for the week 6 recap video, and edited it. They also practiced their FIRST Impact Award presentation, making sure it was perfect. With the day coming to an end, we start heading into crunch time for build season!

Day 44

It is crunch time, and day forty-four! The Control Systems subteam started their day by getting the competition robot up and running, practicing with it for the Canada competition. The Construction subteam assisted the Control Systems subteam with the competition robot on the practice field, producing additional parts through laser cutting, CAD design, sanding, milling, and CNC machining, while also assembling the pit perimeter so we can see if we have everything for it. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam continued to make progress, taking pictures this week and recording videos to finish the week 6 recap. They even practiced and revised the FIRST Impact award presentation. Today was a busy day for our subteams, and we are excited for the first competition of the season!

Day 45

We are back with day forty-five, and our subteams were as busy as ever! The Control Systems subteam began by setting up radios to practice with the competition robot while running autonomous (autos) on it. The Construction subteam continued producing robot parts, CADing, lathing, and measuring them to ensure they were ready for use in case of an emergency. They even helped the Control Systems subteam with their autos for the competition robot on our practice field. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam took photos and videos of today’s progress and even posted the week 6 recap today. We are getting closer to the first competition of the season, and we can’t wait to show you what we have!

Day 46

It’s day forty-six, and we are getting closer to the end of build season! The Control Systems subteam worked on the spare parts and changed some of the wiring on the competition robot. After changing the wires, they also ran autos on the practice field. The Construction subteam continued helping the Control Systems subteam with autos and spare parts. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam continued taking photos of today’s progress and of what our subteam has done. They also recorded clips and took pictures for the robot reveal, and practiced their FIRST Impact Award presentation. As the day came to a close, our subteams continued to work hard towards the end of build season!
