After qualifying during the High School Hawaii State Championship, Team 359B flew into Houston, Texas, for the 2025 VEX VRC High School World Championship!
INTENSE MATCHES
As high school teams from around the globe filled the venue, the atmosphere crackled with energy and anticipation. Team 359B was assigned to the Research Division, embracing the opportunity to connect with talented peers from various countries. As the qualification matches commenced, Team 359B's drivers expertly maneuvered their robot, adapting their strategies to outmaneuver opponents. Their versatile robot design allowed them to perform consistently well throughout the matches, scoring rings on stakes and climbing the ladder.
ALLIANCE SELECTION
Attending the VEX VRC High School World Championship was a unique opportunity for our team, coming from such a geographically isolated area, to meet and connect with diverse teams from various countries. This multicultural experience exposed our students to different customs and traditions, helping them develop a broader worldview. We were also thrilled to reunite with four other teams from our island, which made the event even more memorable!
ARRIVAL AND PREPARATION
On May 6th, 2025, Team 359B arrived at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, brimming with excitement for the 2025 VEX VRC High School World Championship! Out of 20,000 teams, only 831 teams competed! The team swiftly settled in and prepared their robot for inspection, discussing strategies to excel in the upcoming matches. With determination and focus, Team 359B eagerly anticipated the challenges ahead.
TEAM COLLABORATIONS
As qualification matches concluded, Team 359B secured the 60th position with a 4-6-0 (win-lose-tie) record. Although they were not chosen during alliance selections and were eliminated, they remained in high spirits. The team recognized the wealth of knowledge they gained throughout the competition, taking note of innovative strategies and concepts to implement in the future. LOOKING AHEAD
Team 359B wants to thank their mentors for supporting them throughout the whole season, with guidance and love, and for the opportunity to compete in the VEX VRC High School World Championship, make friendships in the mixing pot of more than 30,000 people, and gain invaluable experience. We are so excited to see what comes next with the next season and game, Push Back! Team 359B looks forward to continued growth in future competitions, building upon the valuable lessons learned during this incredible event.
