Week One
Aloha! Welcome to the First week of the 2026 REBUILT Build Season!
Check out our Week One recap on Youtube!
Day 1: Kick-Off
We kicked off Buildseason with brainstorming! Our subteams had discussions amongst themselves, made a plan, and will begin to execute it. Control Systems read out each part of the game manual carefully, making sure not to miss any important details. Construction started CADing a prototype for the robot. Business, Media, and Documentation took our photos, videos, and got the website ready. They also gave a tour of our facilities to a representative of the state, showing her what we can do and have done to make an impact. Overall it was a great starting point for our Build Season, and we can’t wait to continue!
Day 2
Day 2 of build season and we started with a bang! Control Systems started setting up and testing the prototype. Construction began CADing parts, laser cutting them, training our students on how to use the various machines, and building shelves for materials. Business, Media, and Documentation took our photos, videos, worked on the FIRST Impact award presentation and Executive Summary Questions. Time flew by today, however we continue to strive and work towards our goal!
Day 3
As day 3 began, control systems started off by testing limelights, making sure our robots parts are at their best. They then continued from yesterday, further testing prototypes. Construction started their day by again CADing parts. With that CAD, they created the parts to finish the intake prototype that was given to control systems. Business, Media, and Documentation took photos and videos, slowly adding on clips for our weekly recap. They also went over the FIRST Impact award essay, tweaking it so it’s as detailed as possible. Stay tuned for what our team has planned!
Day 4
We’re rolling around to Day 4! Control systems started their day by updating their devices, and ending the day with testing of the prototype. Construction started the day by CADing, laser cutting, lathing, and milling the various robot parts to be given to Control Systems for further testing. Business, Media, and Documentation continued to take photos and videos of today’s hard work and continued to work on Executive Summary Questions. With the day slowly coming to an end, we are close to the half way mark of week one!
Day 5
It's the fifth day of build season, and our students are hard at work! Construction continued, manufacturing parts for the Alpha Bot, and by the end of the day, most of the parts had been completed. They began assembling the robot and are waiting in anticipation for more parts to arrive. Since construction was working hard to build the robot, Control Systems were not as busy today; they wanted to ensure they were prepared for when the robot was built and they were to program it. They organized their wire cabinet and continued updating their devices for the season. While taking photos and videos of the other subteams, Business, Media, and Documentation were busy and making progress. They refined the Impact presentation, writing the script and polishing it. This was an eventful day full of progress, and we will keep this momentum going!
Day 6
It’s the sixth day of Build Season, and it was a great work day for our team! Construction continued to create the parts for the Alpha Bot, cutting, fixing, and making back-ups for said parts. They also started building parts of the field to set it up for testing and teaching students how to work more of the various machines around our facilities. Like before, Control Systems were ensuring that they were prepared for the robot when it was finished being built. Business, Media, and Documentation continued to take photos and videos of the week, collecting clips to be used in the week one build season video. Today was a slower day than before, but eventful nonetheless. Week one is almost over, and we can’t wait to see what's in store!
Day 7
We’re close to the end of the first week of build season! It’s day seven already, and we’ve been on a roll! Control Systems are now a lot busier than before, beginning to wire the parts for the robot that Construction has given them, ending the day with continued testing of the alpha bot prototype. Construction started the day with building the structures for our practice field, making more parts for our alpha bot, CADing, measuring, laser cutting, and tapping them. They were also teaching newer students how to CAD and work on the machines, so they can be at their fullest potential when using them. Business, Media, and Documentation started making the week one build season video, while taking photos and video clips for it. It’s nearing the end of week one, and we continue to strive!
Day 8
It’s the eighth and the last day of week one for build season and we were hard at work! Control systems started their day with testing the alpha bot prototype on the practice field for the first time, and they continued wiring the practice robot. Construction was busy with making more parts for the robot, CADing, drilling, tapping, and cutting them. They were also teaching more machines to the students and how to properly work them, while also setting up the practice field for our prototype so that Control Systems can test and practice. Business, Media, and Documentation took more pictures and videos. They filmed the interviews and started to finalize the week one video. We ended the day with eating dinner, and working hard. We can’t wait to see what Week 2 will bring us, wish us luck!
